Planting & Shrubbery

Owner, Jeff Lucas: Planting Shrubbery

Plants and shrubbery are commonly used within landscapes as decorative aspects, privacy control, coloring, or for curb appeal. You will find these everywhere you look! Whether they are in front of a house, between neighboring yards, or in the median of a highway, pants and shrubs are the icing on top of the cake to a landscape.
The most commonly used are blooming shrubs and screening, evergreen shrubs. Jeff has found over the years that it is popular among homeowners to want large evergreens between their house and their neighbor's. This will heighten their sense of privacy while bringing in a controled "wooded" area to their landscape. One plant that he enjoys incorporating into his landscapes is the knock-out rose bush. This is a beautiful, blooming shrub that has light pink, magenta, or red blooms. The Indian Hawthorn is also another plant that Jeff loves to use. It will grow six feet tall and produces white and pink blooms.
There are so many plants and shrubs that are wonderful options to include in landscapes. If you are in the process of designing a landscape, Jeff suggest taking the time to go to the nursery with your landscaper and together picking out your plants and carefully choosing ones that will work with your design as far as color, size, and maintenance.
