Thanks for visiting my web site about Perfect Lawn, Inc!
My name is Adrian Lucas and I am a sophomore at the University of Montevallo.
I am majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Business. Ultimately, I would
love to work within the Public Relations Department of Country Music Television, or CMT.
If there are two things I am passionate about, it's the communication process and country music.
People intrigue me, and I enjoy observing, as well as teaching them communication skills.
I believe that these are vital to everyday survival. Since I began at UM I have earned a 4.0
GPA and maintained a spot on the President's List. I believe in the efforts of hard work and I enjoy
setting goals and reaching them. I am very organized and live by the saying, "there's a place for everything,
and everything's in its place!" I was born and raised in Montevallo, Alabama and this town holds the majority
of my family as well. I have been to New York twice and I hope that an internship or surprising event will
allow me to experience another big city again! I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and
I live each day knowing that it has its purpose...good or bad! To me, life is all about the attitude you posses
and the relationships you form. I try to stay positive and look on the brighter side of everything. Each day
is a gift and I am so fortunate for all of the blessings that I have been given.
I am involved on campus and I enjoy everything that I choose to invest my time in.
I have been working as a student cashier for two years in the Cashier's Office. I find this job very interesting and rewarding. I get to spend a lot
of time with students and it is fun to be involved with this type of interaction.
I am also a member of the Phi Mu
sorority.
I joined in 2007 when I came to the university. I am currently our Membership Director, but have also held
the position of Panhellenic Delegate. I am very fortunate to have found my home with Phi Mu. I enjoy all aspects
of greek life including mixers, formals, intramurals, special ceremonies, recruitment, sisterhoods, and many more
activities. One of my favorite parts of Phi Mu is our Philanthropy, the Children's Miracle Network. Each year we plan
different events to raise money for CMN. Over this past year, we raised over $1,000 selling the CMN balloons.
I am also very involved with College Night.
For the past two years, I have been on the Purple Side Cabinet and
cast in both the 2008 and 2009 Purple Victory productions. This year, I was cast as one of the three witches.
In the show, my character had an accident with mascara and ran off stage screaming in a blond wig. Needless to say,
I had a blast being part of the production, "That Damn Scottish Musical!" Both of my years playing we have won
College Night. Through the Purple Side, I have learned so much and have been able to experience the thrill of
victory after putting in so much time and effort. This homecoming tradition isn't your typical schedule of events;
it is much more and will forever hold a special place in my heart.
With any extra time that I might have, I really enjoy getting to persue the artistic side of my character.
I took dance for 11 years and I jump at any chance I may have to be in the studio. I also love to paint.
I have painted several canvas paintings for my family of different still objects like wine bottels or my favorite,
a high-heeled shoe with flowers! I have also picked up photography. I really enjoy taking pictures of my baby
cousin Slade and anything outdoors including lots of flowers! Here are some pictures that I have taken just with
my digital camera. I hope to soon invest in a nice camera that I can take better pictures with. So, check back
for more photos soon!
