he 2008 season is a that the SEC West as a whole may want to forget with 4 0f the 6 teams falling below .500 in their
conference record. Teams such as LSU and Auburn had high hopes of finishing the season with a 10 plus win season where unable to
to accomplish this task. Auburn especially had a awful season that included being bowl un-eligible for the first time in more then
7 years. Their season ended with the departure of coach Tommy Tuberville, a move that was already predicted because of the season results.
The surprise for SEC West was Mississippi better known as "ole Miss" who finished the season with a winning record in the conference and
better record then anyone else besides Alabama and received a invitation to play in the Cotton bowl versus Texas Tech.
